Police storm Yale University’s campus with riot gear as hundreds of students stage anti-Israel protest

Police clad with riot gear started swarming Yale University’s campus early Monday where hundreds of students have been staging an anti-Israel protest.

Footage posted online showed cops arriving at the Ivy League school adjacent to a plaza at the New Haven campus where roughly 200 protesters were gathered. 3 New Haven police are getting riot gear out of their vehicles, and entrances to the plaza are blocked by Yale police cars. @thomasbirm/X 3 A crowd of roughly 100-200 students is currently occupying a plaza in Yale. @thomasbirm/X 3 New Haven police seen near Yale’s campus. @thomasbirm/X

It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone had been arrested.

It comes after protests at Yale turned violent over the weekend when a Jewish student journalist reporting on the encampment was stabbed in the eye with a Palestinian flag Saturday night.

The arrival of cops comes after more than 100 protests were cuffed and hauled away when the NYPD were called in to clear out a similar protest from Columbia University last week.
